Happy Monday! Yes, I know happy and Monday are two words that usually aren’t related. I’m not fond of this particular day of the week either, but since this is my first post at Vie Hebdomadaires I choose to be happy. Or at least write that I am. You know, fake it until you make it – that sort of thing.
I guess the best way to start out my week here is to tell you a little bit about myself. I am a wife, mother, writer, jewelry designer and blogger. I’m just a wee bit addicted to coffee. My almost constant companion is my Golden Retriever, Cooper. I actually spend more time with him than I do with my husband and children on most days.
My writing is pretty much all over the map. Press releases for a local stock car race track were my first bits of writing to be published, when I was in college. I moved on to designing beadwork and eventually publishing some of my patterns in crafting magazines after the birth of my second child. Now I mostly write flash fiction and short stories. I have also been blogging at Janel’s Jumble for over three years. That blog started out as a book review blog and has morphed into a chronicle of my writing life where I also try to share my passion for creativity. I truly believe every person is creative, whether they choose to acknowledge it or not. That’s a subject I plan to write about here later this week.
When I was asked to blog on Vie Hebdomadaires I looked through the archives to see what other writers had posted. The very first blogger, Sarah Jeffery, added a fun element to her posts that I loved. The daily portrait of her shoes and socks. So, with a nod to Sarah’s genius blogging I give you my take on the daily photo:
I use several different author biographies, but one of my favorites mentions that I often write with my Golden Retriever napping nearby. It seems appropriate that I showcase my writing buddy in my posts this week. I hope you enjoy the pictures and my posts!
